Homes and businesses have been using it since about a hundredyears. It is produced from natural resources like:water gas coal

To reduce heat production to help to reduce in global warming in a small way3. We should conserve energy because if we use up all of our NON-renewable resources, when we wont have anything to resort to.

Recycled tin can would save enough energy to power a television for 3 hours.2. Recycled glass bottle would save enough energy to power a computer for 25 minutes.3. People are realizing that at the rate we are using earths valuable resources, we willface serious shortage in a near future.With the economic situation in today’s society, many people are looking for more ways to savemoney.One good act everyday will help the mother Earth to give us many more beautiful days for our futuregenerations to come. Lets all help mother Earth and help ourselves now and for the generations tocome – Love Our Planet EARTH.To save the planet Earth, We – the staff, teachers & students of GIIS, East Coast Campus haveplanned to make one commitment each day, during the ‘Energy Week’ (20th July to 27th July).Our resolution for DAY 3: 22nd July,11 isReduce waste. This is a very innovative approach taken up by the school. Presentation The presentation has changed my approach towards using electricity. The content of presentation was informative and interesting. Implementation I will contribute in saving electricity by implementing the suggestions given. I will positively try to spread awareness in society.Conclusion:The Surveyors appreciated the concept and initiative taken up by school,whereas the presentation rating shows scope of improvement.

  35. 35. Impact:1. This Project has wide application so all stakeholders welcomed the project and helped implementation – even at homes, neighborhood and friends2. We created awareness among our 1200 schoolmates and their parents(approx 2000), 80 teachers , staff , sub-staff, 50 neighborhood homes, 40 community members and school children from Bedok Green Primary School who took part in the ‘Greenathon’ on our sports day.3. Most importantly we are all much conscious and aware regarding environment and saving energy

  37. 37. To enhance awareness we organized „Greenathon‟ - walk for a cause on oursports day. We invited communtiy members ,parents, our guests -20students from Bedok Green Pirmary School to participate.

This assembly included a skit, a ppt and a rap with the whole school taking pledge on saving energy and environment4. Created Awareness through teaching and learning subjects5. Observing earth hour every day6. Greenathon- small steps big change- walk for a cause –with a pledge by all parents, students, teachers, staff and community members present7. Created awareness amongst neighborhood and friends8. Made posters and put them up in the school9. Conducted surveys
