  • Look at the sample teacher pages and then post elements you see that should be included on teacher pages.\n
  • Sign In - first & last name (no spaces or punctuation) & computer password\nTake a look at what your default web page looks like - this is just a standard format & any of these pages can be removed (best rule - if you’re not using a page, then remove it)\nSite Manager - for editing your web pages\nMy Information - take a side trip to look at this page\n
  • Update your information - make sure you Save your changes\nE-Alert - goes to your cell phone\nSubscriptions - Other areas of Interest--make sure you choose the building before the channel because they change for each building (look at technology difference between district & your building)\n
  • These go to your cell phone\n
  • Make modifications to your information\n
  • New Page\nOrganize Pages - rearrange the order\nRecycle Bin - totally delete a page or restore a page\n
  • You can restore deleted pages by going to the Recycle Bin.\n
  • ...only if you haven’t done anything with your pages ever. Otherwise, delete pages that have old content. We can always restore them later.\n
  • Article page - almost like writing a blog (include an image for your teaser page)\nAssignments - post assignments for students w/title name and directions (not an uploaded file, but you directions could refer them to File Library where they could find the rubric and other resources related to the assignment), can set categories & due dates\nBlog - use for regular updates (this could make a good home page, but not good with other apps)\nCalendar - don’t use as this is a district wide calendar, not for individual teacher use\nDefault Configuration - gives you a table with a header and text in Latin\nFlex Editor is the best type of page to use--Most of the pages are similar to the apps. You could almost stick with the flex editor page and add various apps to get the layout & content you want.\n
  • \n
  • This is just a page to play around on - just like playing in a sandbox.\n
  • Edit, Page Options, Delte\nGet Link, Copy Page\nMove Page, Set Viewers\n
  • You can set a Display Duration for this page\nWon’t ever use Advanced feature\nSave at the bottom\nWe will look at this again later.\n
  • Click the page name to get to manage apps & layout if you go straight into app.\n
  • Make sure you click “I’m Done”\n
  • There are a few more options & there is a recommendation chart for apps and layout options.\n
  • Everything is mushed together and hard to decipher.\n
  • Distinction between the columns and content is easier to read.\n
  • \n
  • Based on the type of page you selected, you will already have that type of app on the page - Choose Blog & you have the blog app - remember you can always add & remove apps.\nThese are the recommended apps for use. Some of the others either don’t work or there are better online tools for the job (wiki).\n
  • Click on the photo to take a closer look.\n
  • \n
  • Click link to take a closer look\n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • Don’t use the Forms & Surveys - there are other more reliable online tools for this purpose\n
  • \n
  • \n
  • Don’t know if there is a cap on how many photos you can upload at one time.\n
  • Edit title, caption & link to a web address\nTarget: same = go back option; new = new window\n
  • Adjust - resize, rotate, crop, color, contrast, doodle, focal blur and more\nEffect - changes coloring look (vintage, soft, b/w, etc.)\nOverlay - puts an effect over the image\nBorders, stickers, text\nMake sure you save when you’ve completed the adjustments.\n
  • You can also change the Fade Style and add audio.\nLeave the Delivery as Flash Movie\n
  • Add about 3-5 pictures\nPlay with the Adjustment features and the transition features\nIf you are up to the challenge, add some music.\n

  • Keynote:\nWhite Title slide - put in your title and readjust title box\nInsert a shape (plain or rounded box best) and resize it to cover your title\nArrange - send back\nInspector - Object (change the fill color, change the stroke for line or frame)\nTake a screenshot of the title (command+shift+4) - click and drag your cursor over the title and let go\nRename the image and you can insert it as an image on your page\n\nBackground Color:\nAdd a table on your web page (one row, one column) and make it the size it should appear on your page\n(You might have to set a size, save it, view it and then resize it again - best way is in HTML format)\nChoose Cell Properites\nChange the background color\nThen you can add text, photo gallery, image etc.\n\n
  • \n
  • Bullets - under page options\nOrganize - on site manager page\nBreaks - use Flex editor app & division lines\n\n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • Look for the embed code - keywords are embed or share\nCopy the code\nSelect HTML view on your page - you must be in the edit mode\nPaste the code on your page (usually at the end of the page) and save\n
  • Use Spell w/Flickr for anyone who wants to give this a try\n
  • Student Info - first name & photo only (make sure you check for permission)\nCopyrighted materials - clipart, music, text (anything that is not your own and you don’t have permission to use)---Talk about Fair Use\n\n
  • Types of pages or apps, specific content, etc.\nWrite or type your response - 5 minutes\nShare with a partner\n
  • Pdf files on wiki\nHow Do I...? on the website\n
