    Districtof Mutual Respect of Four Confessions
  • 2. The only such in the world
    If someone told you that there is such a place in Poland, which is not on any map, where they live side by side, praying and working together, Catholics and Protestants,
    Orthodox and Jews - whether you believe?Well, such the place exists. It is located in Wroclaw's Old Town, between the streets of Kazimierz the Great, Saint. Anthony,
    Saint. Nicholas and Paul Włodkowic.
    The phenomenon of this place is that just three hundred meters from each other is the church of the protestant, Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Church and a synagogue.Indeed, the location so close together up four churches ( Jewish and three Christian denominations) is a rare phenomenon, something unusual. You will not find anywhere else in Poland, something like that.
    Just such a localisation has enabled the propagation of ideas of mutual cooperation between neighboring religious communities - Quarter Mutual Respect.
  • 3. This district has come about in social perception in the mid-90s. At that time, unknown assailants have been knock out windows in churches of various denominations and in the synagogue.Representatives of these communities have decided to oppose jointly those acts of vandalism.With time their merged another initiative related to the charity, cultural, common prayer.
    In 1996, was formed Council of District of Mutual Respect Four Confessions and in 2005 was createdDistrictsFoundation. There have been some new projects:
    "The kids - children of one God", music workshops under the title" Sing with the rabbi, pastor and priest", "Exhibition Quarter Mutual Respect" and recently Inter Film Club.
    In 2009, at the Orthodox Church organized a workshop at which children from different communities together biblical scenes painted on silk, sang and play with drejdl - traditional Jewish toy.
    Inhabitants of Wroclaw attract here events such as Simcha Jewish Culture Festivaland numerous concerts in different temples.The popularity of this district continues to increase.The popularity of this district continues to increase.Come here seniors and youth as well as people outside the city, tourists from abroad ....

    solemnly consecrated this one of the most beautiful Wroclaw temples.

  • 13. April 2, 2008 in Wroclaw was launched the program Children of one God,
    in which children of four creeds:
    Roman Catholic , the Augsburg Evangelical, Orthodox and Jewish
    will mutually learn of traditions and customs of other creeds.
    The projectconsists of:
    • Monthly meetings in the four temples
    • 14. Intercultural Workshops (art, dance) for children from whole Polish
    • 15. Music Workshops - Let's sing with the rabbi, pastor and priest
    (as from the synagogue singing, through the gregorian singing up to the gospel
    singing)
    • Holiday meetings with the youth from Ukraine
    • 16. and a number of accompanying events like concerts, shows, conferences,
    meetings and competitions for groups.
    The project Children of one God is the greatest inter-cultural project
    carried out in Lower Silesia.
    Projects are carriedbythe Foundation of Quarter of Mutual Respect of Four Confessions.

    Take place in Wroclaw White Stork Synagogue since 1996.Havdalah - the end of Sabbath joy resound in the heart of Wroclaw District of Mutual Respect with a synagogue music and traditional Jewish music.Involved international, distinguished artists and particularly appreciated,
    acting in Wroclaw, the only Polish synagogue choir
    Choir of the White Stork Synagogue under the direction of Stanislaw Rybarczyk.
