    • DOOLITTLE’S RAID WAS THE FIRST AIR ATTACK DONE BY THE US, ONTO THE JAPANESE.

    • THE ATTACK HAPPENED ON APRIL 18, 1942.

    • THE ATTACK HAPPENED ON ON AN ISLAND OFF OF JAPAN, CALLED HONSHU.

    • THE US ATTACKED AS A RETALIATION AFTER JAPANESE ATTACKED PEARL HARBOR.
  • 7. HOW?
    • THE ATTACK BEGAN WITH BOMBERS BEING LAUNCHED FROM USS HORNET.

    • 80 MEN TOOK PART, 5 IN EACH 16 PLANES
    • 4 US TROOPS WERE TAKEN AS WAR PRISONERS AND SURVIVED 40 MONTHS IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT
    • 35 STATES CAN SAY THEY HAVE CITIZENS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE RAID
  • 10. THE DOOLITTLE’S TOKYO RAID
    • OVERALL THE IMPACT OF THE DOOLITTLE’S TOYKO RAID WERE BOTH GOOD AND BAD. THE US DEFEATED JAPANESE BUT GOT HIT PRETTY HARD AS WELL.
