  • Hello everyone, my name is Puangchomphu Rammuang from Thai Fund Foundation. Today I would like to present my work on Mekong ICT Camp to this forum. First, I would like to quick introduce Mekong ICT Camp just for 2 mins. `
  • With idea to create plateform of sharing and learning on ICT for those people in Mekong sub region
  • Normally we have 60 participants from 5 country, 13 for each country Normally all free for participants but with un successful fundraising , We required 85 USD per participant

    • 2. Mekong ICT Camp is a biannual training workshop on information, communication, and technologies for NGOs, citizen media included community health, and civil society development in Mekong sub-region. What is Mekong ICT Camp?
    • 3. • Mekong ICT Camp was established by Thai Fund Foundation in 2008 • Inspired from Asia Source • A gap of ICT knowledge in Mekong sub-region • Create common learning space whereby participants can exchange their ICT knowledge and skills. • It’s ICT innovation workshop Mekong ICT Camp
    • 4. Developers, citizen journalists, health workers, Hackers, government officers, social theorists, activists, in one room!
    • 5. Thai Fund Foundation organised the 1st Mekong ICT Camp in 2008 at Leaning Centre, Thammasat University, Pattaya campus, Thailand. Background

Searching for more allies. 5. Preparing the curriculum harmonized with the context of Mekong sub- regions. 6. Inviting the guest lecturer with helpful specialties from around the world. 7. Finding the proper location 8. Selecting the country committee for qualify the participants 9. Selecting the moderator 10.Promoting the project 11.Recruiting the participants 12.Cooperating for the participants’ transportation

    • 15. Mekong ICT Camp 2013 There are some problems can be happened, mostly were from these following; 1)Fundraising 2)Dealing with Donor requirement 3) Participant Security What we faced and solution
    • 16. Mekong ICT Camp 2013 Fundraising 1)Raise Fund to cover 75,000- 80,000 USD, 2) 4-5 months to tackle it!
    • 17. Mekong ICT Camp 2013 If cannot covered the budget ! PLAN B, SOLUTION It! •Re-sizing the workshop •contribute requirement from participant •Asked If speaker can contribute
    • 18. Mekong ICT Camp 2013 2) Dealing with Donor requirement - Normally it ok but; -In case seriously, when NO “win win ” situation. -The Donors who have different principle.
    • 19. 3) Protect Participant Privacy& Security -Different Policy, Different understand but; -Security awareness -Protect them Mekong ICT Camp 2013
