    • ObjecFves   The intent of this research is to provide a benchmark for employer and  employee use of social media behind the firewall as part of the internal  communicaFons mix. This study will examine the use of social media behind the  firewall of enterprise users.    Specifically this study will explore the following quesFons:    Do companies use social media to increase internal producFvity, promote  understanding of and buy‐in to corporate strategy and objecFves, increase employee  voice, increase connectedness among mulFple sites (countries) or increase  connectedness between employees and leaders? If so, how well does it work? How can  it be improved?    How do employees react to social media behind the firewall? What do they like and not  like? Why? What should be changed?
