  2. 2. Chapter Information The coming of God’s Kingdom was a frequenttheme in Jesus’ preaching. Jesus performed miracles to bring people tofaith and to enhance their lives. The Kingdom of God will not be completeuntil Jesus returns in glory at the end of time.

Chapter Information Jesus’ healing and forgiveness were signs ofthe power of God’s love active in the world. Through Jesus’ miracles of healing andforgiveness, he shared the life and love ofGod with others. John baptized people in the Jordan River as asign of their desire to repent and to changetheir lives.
  4. 4. Chapter Information Jesus taught his disciples about spreadingGod’s Kingdom by giving them theBeatitudes, teachings that describe the wayto live as his disciples. Jesus was baptized at Jordan River by theprophet John. The word beatitude means “blessed” or“happy.”
  5. 5. Chapter Information With the coming of Jesus Christ, God’sKingdom came into the world. Jesus’ healing and forgiveness were specialsigns that he was not only human but divine. In Jesus the disciples could see and feelGod’s power and grace at work.

Chapter Information There were twelve disciples of Jesus whoshared his mission in a special way and wereknown as his Apostles. Jesus was the Anointed One, who had cometo fulfill the words of the prophet Isaiah byliberating people and setting them free fromsickness, hunger, fear, sin, and even death. Jesus teaches us that when we seek hishealing, whether from physical ills, from hurt,or from the suffering caused by sin, we musthave faith.

He offered freedom from sin and thegift of God’s love to everyone.

  14. 14. Meaning of the Our Father Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earthas it is heaven. We ask God to unite us with the work ofChrist, and to bring about his Kingdom. Wepray to God for the ability to do his will.

Meaning of the Our Father Give is this day our daily bread, and forgiveus our trespasses as we forgive those whotrespass against us. We ask God for everything we need forourselves, and for the world. We use his giftsto work toward his plan of salvation, we askGod to heal us, and we ask for forgivenessfrom others who need it. We follow theexample of Christ and forgive those who havehurt us.
  16. 16. Meaning of the Our Father And lead us not into temptation but deliver usfrom evil. Amen. We pray that God will protect us from all thatcould draw us away from his love. We askhim to guide us to choose good in our lives,and we ask him for the strength to follow hislaw.
