 The relative difference between light and dark areas
of a print or negative.
 Contrast in art and design occurs when two related
elements are different.
 Contrast in design is an accentuation of the
differences between elements in a design.
 Contrast is the juxtaposition of opposing elements
eg. opposite colors on the color wheel
