    • Introduction : The OPERATING SYSTEM (OS) is the most important computer program in a computer, to work the other programs each computer must contain an Operating system , the Operating system performs the basic tasks for example: it sends the information to the screen, it controls peripheral devices such as printers ,scanners etc .
    • Some of the most used operating systems:  Microsoft windows :windows version appeared first in November 1985. It is one of the most popular systems in the market ,it covers about 90% of the market share .
    •  Linux : The unix operating system was conceived and implemented in 1969 at AT &T's Bell Laboratories in the USA by Ken thompson,Dennios Ritchie ,Duglas Mclroy and Joe Oassanna. The growing popularity of GNU / Linux is due, among other reasons, its stability, access to source code (which allows you to customize the operation and safety audit)
    •  Google chrome OS: The company Google has said that the project source Google Chrome OS was released in late 2009. Although the system is based on a Linux kernel will have a window manager for Google itself, instead of GNOME or KDE, which are used in most desktop Linux distributions. Google plans to incorporate the collaboration of the free software community to help develop the project .
    • Mac OS is the name of operating system created by Apple for its Macintosh computer line. He is known for being the first system aimed at the general public to have a graphical interface composed of the mouse interaction with windows, icons and menus
    • The project was short-lived, and was canceled only a year later in early 1993, when the new CEO of Apple changed its strategy. The team was able to make the Macintosh Finder and some basic applications like QuickTime, work perfectly on a PC. Some of the code of this effort was reused later when he moved the Mac OS to the PowerPC .
    • Fifteen years after the Star Trek project, was officially included support to the x86 architecture in Mac OS, and then moved all Apple desktop computers for the x86 architecture Hybrid Kernel tipus based on the Mach microkernel Hybrid would be enough in the Mach microkernel
