  • How To Optimize Your Dell Windows 8 Computer? Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are the latest operating system offered by Microsoft. Like many major computer brands, Dell, too, has equipped its system so that they can work properly on these latest OS. No matter how technologically advanced your system or operating system are, they require regular maintenance and Dell help and support so that they can work smoothly and without any problems. Slow computer speed is the most common problem faced by any Dell user. After some time, your system is prone to sluggish performance that is caused due to many factors like piles of unnecessary files and folders, junk files like temporary files and registry files, search histories, cookies, caches and many more. These make your Dell system crawl. It is important to optimize your system from time to time, so that you don’t face any issue in the working of the system. One technique to shun this problem is the proper optimization of drivers. This ‘Optimize tool’ is available in your Windows 8 to improve your system’s performance. This tool was called Disk Defragmenter in the earlier Windows operating system. By default, it runs weekly due to its automatic settings. However, you can also run this feature manually, with the help of Dell support. However, before you initiate this process, firstly check for any error and repair the file with the help of the below mentioned steps: Swipe from the right side of your screen and tap on Search option. Enter This PC in the search box and click on it. Choose the drive that you want to optimize and click on Properties. Now, go to the Tools tab and click on Check under Error checking. Type the administrator password and proceed with the process. Reboot the computer after you have done with it. Now, you can use the ‘Optimize Driver’ to initiate the optimization process. If you don’t want to schedule it automatically, then you can perform this function manually by following these steps, as suggested by expert Dell technical support. Go to Search option and type Defragment in the search box and press Enter. Click on the first option on the list. Select the drive that you want to optimize from the Status option. You can analyze the drive that you are optimizing. Type the administrator password. After the analysis of the drive is done, check the ‘current status’. If the fragmented space is more than 10%, then you should continue the driver optimization process. Click on ‘Optimize’ to start the process and enter the administrator password again. Do not perform any other work on your computer until the process is complete. Restart the computer once it is done.
