  • This is the epigraph on the top of the Scots’ Charitable Society of Boston’s original constitution. Scots’ was formed on January 6, 1657 by twenty-eight “Scottish men” for relief of their fellow Scottishmen or any of the Scottish nation.What we see now as a narrow parochial interest was the norm of the day. A group of people, neighbors really dedicated to helping people they knew in this new world.
