  • nd2 Grade News Mrs. Ealy’s Class May 11, 2012 Letter from Mrs. EalyDear Parents, Next Week’s Specials Monday - Wellness On Wednesday our Unit 10 math tests were sent home andmost students did a good job. However, I did notice that students who Tuesday – Artmay have struggled on the test, knew how to do the problems, but madea simple mistake like not looking at the sign and added instead of Wednesday – Music and Computerssubtracted. We have been working very hard in class on building stamina Thursday – Music and P.E. (Wear Sneakers)not only in reading, but other areas as well. We have been practicingtaking our time, reading the questions carefully, looking at all the Friday – Library and P.E. (Wear Sneakers)possible answers, and rechecking our work before turning things in. Wehave been talking about all of these test taking strategies to help preparefor the MEAP next year. What We’re Learning About! Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts athome. I am very happy to say that on the last timed test every studentimproved their addition and subtraction scores! Everyone is doing a Math – This week we started Unit 11, which is on Whole Numbergreat job. During the last week of school we will be having a 2nd grade Operations. We worked on finding the amount of change given whenmath tournament for addition and subtraction facts. The top student in buying certain items. Many students are still struggling with thiseach class will compete with each other to see who knows their facts the concept. We spent an extra day this week just reviewing. Pleasefastest.
