  • 1. SOCKET PRESERVATIONPLUG IT-SEAL IT-PRESERVE IT!Socket preservation is a procedure in which graftmaterial is placed in the extraction socket topreserve the alveolar ridge. The basic principlebehind socket preservation, although similar in allprocedures, varies with the technique of socketclosure. Among the wide array of surgicalprocedures, ‘Bio-Col Technique’ and ‘Socket SealSurgery’ give predictable outcomes. Slide no. 1 Dr. Sneha Rajguru. Poster No. 25

  • 5. ConclusionThe goal of the Bio-Col site-preservation techniqueis to minimize loss of alveolar ridge contourssecondary to osseous remodeling, increase boneregeneration within the extraction socket, and preventsoft tissue collapse associated with tooth removal.Socket seal surgery is an efficacious procedure forhard and soft tissue preservation and is effective inproviding the necessary conditions for thedevelopment of functional and esthetic pontic site.
