  2. 2. What is Pinterest? Pinterest is a social network that allows users to visually share, curate and discover new interests by posting (pinning) images or videos to pinboards.
  3. 3.  Not a place to push your product or service, but a place to show the lifestyle associated with your product.
  4. 4.  Very visual and focused on lifestyle “This is a social network meant to connect everyone in the world through the things they find interesting.”
  5. 5. Vocabulary Pin – an image added to a Pinboard Pinboard – a collection of pins based on themes Pinning – visually sharing content
  6. 6.  Repin – reposting Pin It Button – button to place on website for sharing from website. Includes linkback. Pinner – the person using Pinterest

  11. 11.  Sign up with the same email address that you use for your business Twitter account So that you can share new pins through your Twitter account. No connection to Facebook business pages, just your profile.

  13. 13.  Add the applicable links at the bottom Make sure “Hide your Pinterest profile from search engines” is OFF.
  14. 14. Build Your Following Follower of specific pinboard  Follower gets notified when there is a new pin on that board Follower of User’s Account  Follower gets notified where there is a new pin on any of that user’s boards.
