The  narrative  in  Get  Carter  is  called  a  Linear  narrative  (it  is  a  reaction  to  events   (cause  and  effect  chain) It  takes  Jack  (and  us)  a  while  to  realise  what’s  going  on  (  real  life  is  like  that)   Themes  come  out  of  the  narrative  (fate,  lack  of  control,  revenge  being   pointless) What  is  the  difference  between   SUSPENSE  and  SURPRISE?
