  • 1. DON’T LET THE Bed Bugs Are On the Rise. Could You BeBED BUGS BITE At Risk?
  • 2. A FEW BITING FACTS  Bed bugs are small, oval insects that feed on the blood of humans or animals.  Bed bugs can live in any area of your home, and they can reside in the tiniest crack imaginable.  Bed bugs are most active at night, biting the victims as they sleep.
  • 3. BED BUG BITES In many cases, a single bed bug bite might go unnoticed. Redness, swelling, and itching are the most common signsof a bed bug bite. They’retypically very small bites, and they can be eitherraised or flat against the skin.
  • 4. A GROWING PROBLEMBed bugs can live on furnitureor clothing and even live insidethe bedding. They spread bymoving from room to room, so ifyou have a bed bug controlproblem in one room, it’spossible that it has spread toyour whole house.Bed bugs can even move fromplace to place by hitchhiking onyour suitcase as you travel fromyour hotel to your home. Bedbugs might even come with yourchild’s playmate.
  • 5. FREEZING ISN’T AS RELIABLE There are many rumors about how to kill bed bugs but freezing isn’t the most reliable method out there. Freezing can kill bed bugs, but the temperature must remain very low for a very long time to make certain they’re completely gone.
  • 6. BABIES!Not sure the problem is that serious? Consider this. Onefemale bed bug can lay more than 200 eggs in a lifetime. Herlife lasts about ten months.New baby bed bugs are colorless, so you may not even be ableto spot them. They have to shed their skin five times to grow, and before each of those incidents, they need a large mealjust beforehand.
  • 7. BED BUG PREVENTION  If you’re traveling, make sure you examine the room before you set your luggage inside. Look for bugs, stains & check the seams & puckers of the mattress.  If you buy used furniture or clothing, treat it before it enters your home. Clothing should be washed in hot water & dried on the highest heat setting. Furniture can be carefully inspected before you bring it home. www.slugabug.com
  • 8. PROPER PEST MANAGEMENT Choosing an experienced bed bug professional is really the only way to deal with a bed bug infestation. It will not only increase your chances of success, but it will also help speed up the entire process. Before you choose a pest control company, you may want to ask about their treatment methods, as there are a variety of new technologies that could save you a lot of time and money.
  • 9. A FEW TIPS TO REMEMBER  Before you start bed bug treatment, make sure you’re really dealing with bed bugs instead of fleas or ticks.  Don’t panic. If you start dragging furniture through the house, you could create a larger problem.  Wash everything in hot water & dry on high heat.  Keep the clutter out of your home to keep the number of hiding places to a minimum.  Don’t pass your bed bugs on to others.
