  • 1. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." (Matthew 6:7) Jesus warns us not to pray in vain repetition. This means:
  • 2. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" Rambling words to God in monologue and not heart-driven dialogue. Speaking words in prayer out of a routine and habit, but not in the fresh fear of an all knowing, holy, and powerful supreme being. Speaking many words without inspiration and unction….
  • 3. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" Talking to God as my cosmic butler with my grocery list. Speaking in tongues and becoming ritual and routine, but having no anointing and unction. Not speaking specific with God but in generalities, not expecting much in return. Jesus wants:
  • 4. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" Real, passionate engaging conversation. Conviction driven dialog. God fearing communication where we experience God's prophetic word in prayer. Spirit sensitivity listening for His Word to speak and lead the prayer meeting on what I should say. The fallow ground of our hearts to be broken up.
  • 5. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" Our complete attention in prayer, without being double- minded. Your promises and recommitments to prayer to be qualitative and non-negotiable. Us to dig within ourselves to seek a greater revelation of His love for us. To break carnal mindsets that hinders our ability to speak meaningfully in His presence. Passionate worship.
  • 6. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" PRAY: That our words do not return void when praying for our families, pastors, and saints. For God's fresh fire to sweep over local church intercessors and pastor's wives for revival to break out. For God to release a greater measure of the gifts of the Spirit in our local churches.
  • 7. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" For pastors to continually connect themselves to the spirit of prayer with their local church prayer coordinators. For church leaders and department heads to experience real renewing throughout the week from the business of ministry...so that they can receive God's prophetic word for their lives. That God speaks a word fit in due season to pastors and their families.
  • 8. Prayer: "Not Vain Repetitions" " He said I charge you, O you daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the hinds of the field which are free to follow their own instincts that you not try to stir up or awaken my love until it pleases." (Song of Solomon 2:7) (Amplified Bible)
