  • 2. Course Description
    • In this course, students will read classic novels with an emphasis on reading comprehension. Students will use before, during and after reading strategies to increase plot retention and reading comprehension. After reading each classic, students will write reflections to assess and emphasize reading comprehension. The course will culminate in a final exam, which will test reading comprehension as well as memory of the plot of each novel. The course will cover the following novels: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, and Nineteen Eight.
