    Wearehunted.com Presentation at Tech23.com.au - Presentation Transcript

    1. I’m going to try to convey 2 key messages in my 4 minutes:
      • why Wearehunted is the music chart of the Digital Generation
      • a little about our business / revenue model
    2. But let me start here with the music makers…
There are bands and artists playing and recording everywhere – getting their sound out there.
There could be many listening. There might be only one person listening.
      But today, one is enough…
    3. Because if that one person loves the sound enough, chances are she’s got the tools…
    4. …to tell someone else or maybe a few more…
    5. There are so many tools to spread the word
    6. It’s so easy to share that moment of excitement in a couple of words – in a handful of characters - right when you’re feeling it the most…
    7. Or you can take a little more time to express how you feel about your new music discovery
    8. You might just inspire another to listen for the first time.
    9. YOU GOTTA
      CHECK THIS OUT!!
      And the sharing cycle continues…
    10. So much activity. So much data.
    11. That could tell us so much
    12. If we could measure it. Listen to it.
    13. …Organiseit. Which is what we do.
    14. Our system listens to online discussion, sharing and social sites, music blogs, forums & news sites to chart the 99 most popular songs online each day.
    15. …to create ‘We Are Hunted’ - A new way to discover new music.
    16. So we can all experience the top 99 songs online right now. But better than that…we carve it up further. …into the most popular Emerging songs…
    17. The most popular on Twitter
    18. The most popular across various genres
    19. We encourage users to play
    20. …to stream
    21. We encourage them to buy
    22. We want to help people discover and connect with new music whatever environment they’re in, whatever application they use.
So for example, we syndicate our chart data into Spotify - the popular new European streaming service. To help users discover new sounds so they stick around longer, get excited more often…And are more likely to renew their subscription!
    23. So what’s the thinking behind all this? How are we going to make money?
    24. In the backend we’re collecting a mountain of rich data
    25. We can measure the buzz around bands and releases
    26. …And users’ activity
    27. We review the metrics that some may not like – but we think you have to, to get the complete picture.
    28. So tactically – we will sell reporting services back to the music industry, while nurturing and working towards what we think is a very strategic positioning…
    29. New Music Discovery
    30. So we can help partners help their users continue to get excited when they find new music. So excited that they buy a little more or renew their subscription…
    31. While continuing to sell data services to the trade. For now our focus is to…
    32. Extend the range of data we’re collecting and refine our reporting services interface. And importantly – keep innovating and improving for our users…
    33. We Are Hunted - the music chart for the Digital Generation.
