  • WORLD LANGUAGES EOY RESULTS International Baccalaureate Results  45 French, 56 Spanish, and nine Mandarin Chinese Students sat for Language B IBS and IBH exams.  Two Spanish ab initio  One Mandarin A1 self-taught  Three Spanish A2 HL candidates  One student wrote an extended essay in Spanish  One student wrote an extended essay in Mandarin

  • GMHS BAND AND THEATER ACCOMPLISHMENTS Thoroughly Modern Millie Both the George Mason Band and Symphonic Band earned ratings of straight superior at the District X competition in March. 11th year in a row! 162 musical students visited Atlanta Performed @ VCS’ “Festival of Winds and Percussion” Record number of students who auditioned for state and district bands. 4 – State and 12 – District GMHS Jazz Combo performed at the Chantilly Jazz Festival in March GMHS Band won “Best Float” award @ Falls Church Memorial Day Parade Mary Jo West recognized as winner of The American Prize in Conducting – Musical Theater Division GMHS Production of Les Miserables was the winner of The American Prize – Musical Theater Division
