    • FARMINGTON YOUNG AUTHOR’S WORKSHOP BOECKMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL – MARCH 20, 2013
    • Students from all five elementary schools and both middle schoolsattended. Minnesota Author Fred Johnson covered non-fiction writing.
    • Brook Berg provided a lively presentation regarding “finding your voice”, a lesson on using language to set the right tone.
    • Students created their own personal journals in one session and starting using them right that day.
    • Author, Reporter and former FHS teacher/coach Jim Hoey inspired his students to write about their passions.
    • Students used iPads to create stories on “Toontastic”. Digital Learning Specialists Briana Buck and Dan Pickens led that session.
    • The creative minds of the students were stretched in a session called “just imagine”, led by Maureen Carlson.
