    • TOP 10% BANQUET/SENIOR AWARDS PROGRAMFARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL – MAY 29, 2013
    • Students and their families gathered in a celebration of academicleadership in the FHS cafeteria.
    • FHS Principal Ben Kusch served as event emcee.
    • Students invited a teacher to honor at the event. Here elementaryteacher Cinda Current is the honored guest.
    • A teacher’s impact lives on after retirement! Former Farmingtonteacher Jim Hoey is the honored guest.
    • Broadcasting teacher Mark Toutge helped to plant a seed for astudent’s passion for television production.
    • FHS Counselor Barbara Walker provided helpful guidanceto this high achieving student.
    • A student even invited her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Titusdahl.
    • Then it was on to the Recital Hall for the presentation of awardsincluding over $40,000 in scholarship money.
    • Michael and Summer Jothen and son James presented the Aaron JothenMemorial Scholarship. The award was named in honor of their youngson who died of cancer prior to being schoolage.
    • Janet Lekson from Dakota Electric presentedFHS seniors with $1000 scholarships.
    • District Transportation provider Marschall Line was also amongst the local businesseswho showed strong support for students at the event.
    • The event marked the first ever presentation of theLouis Schmitz Memorial Scholarship.
    • Louis Schmitz Memorial Scholarship Award recipient Kevin Olund is shown with Randy Schmitz,son of Louis and former FHS standout athlete and Louie Cordes.
    • Farmington’s service organizations also show strong support for students.
    • Jason Kohlbeck presented on behalf of the Farmington American Legion.
    • Athletic awards were also presented featuring the Oscar J. Lubke Award.Alex Chadwick was presented that award, shown here withJon Summer, FHS Athletic Director and the Lubke Family presenters.
