2013 Farmington High School "Top 10 Percent" Banquet and Senior Awards Night

  1. 1. TOP 10% BANQUET/SENIOR AWARDS PROGRAMFARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL – MAY 29, 2013
  2. 2. Students and their families gathered in a celebration of academicleadership in the FHS cafeteria.
  3. 3. FHS Principal Ben Kusch served as event emcee.
  4. 4. Students invited a teacher to honor at the event. Here elementaryteacher Cinda Current is the honored guest.
  5. 5. A teacher’s impact lives on after retirement! Former Farmingtonteacher Jim Hoey is the honored guest.
  6. 6. Broadcasting teacher Mark Toutge helped to plant a seed for astudent’s passion for television production.
  7. 7. FHS Counselor Barbara Walker provided helpful guidanceto this high achieving student.
  8. 8. A student even invited her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Titusdahl.
  9. 9. Then it was on to the Recital Hall for the presentation of awardsincluding over $40,000 in scholarship money.
  10. 10. Michael and Summer Jothen and son James presented the Aaron JothenMemorial Scholarship. The award was named in honor of their youngson who died of cancer prior to being schoolage.
  11. 11. Janet Lekson from Dakota Electric presentedFHS seniors with $1000 scholarships.
  12. 12. District Transportation provider Marschall Line was also amongst the local businesseswho showed strong support for students at the event.
  13. 13. The event marked the first ever presentation of theLouis Schmitz Memorial Scholarship.
  14. 14. Louis Schmitz Memorial Scholarship Award recipient Kevin Olund is shown with Randy Schmitz,son of Louis and former FHS standout athlete and Louie Cordes.
  15. 15. Farmington’s service organizations also show strong support for students.
  16. 16. Jason Kohlbeck presented on behalf of the Farmington American Legion.
  17. 17. Athletic awards were also presented featuring the Oscar J. Lubke Award.Alex Chadwick was presented that award, shown here withJon Summer, FHS Athletic Director and the Lubke Family presenters.
