D-Ribose Powder - Not Just for Bodybuilders, It Also Aids Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia - Presentation Transcript

    1. D-Ribose Powder - Not Just for Bodybuilders, It Also Aids Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia D-Ribose Powder is one of the body's naturally occuring simple sugars, and one of many different supplements on the market today. It's also often used by bodybuilders for training purposes. The thinking behind its use in bodybuilding circles is that it helps to increase muscle mass, and aids in healing or recovery of the muscle after a workout. The popularity of D-Ribose Powder is fairly widespread, even though there has been little to no evidence from the medical community that supports these claims. Even so, many people swear by it. As to how D-Ribose is used within the body and cells in particular, it works as follows. It's first converted by the cell into d-ribose 5-phosphate. The technical term for this is phosphorylation, and it's aided by the catalyst Ribokinase. Once it is has been phosphorylated, it's then used by the cell to produce specific amino acids, namely tryptophan and histidine. Now thanks to a recent study involving the use of d-ribose, it's been suggested that the use of d-ribose has been beneficial to those that suffer from fibromyalgia and fatigue; namely chronic fatigue. The study involved a controlled dose administered 3 times a day, and the test subjects reported improvement in most test areas. Most claimed to having higher levels of well being, less pain, more overall energy, and improved sleep habits and mental acuity. Even though this wasn't a wide ranging test with controls in place, the preliminary results are very encouraging and merit further research. So is d-ribose a magic bullet? No one can really say for sure yet, but the early results sure look promising. It's available at many health stores now, and from all the research done to date, at the very least it doesn't appear to be harmful or detrimental to one's health. So if you're interested in trying it out for yourself, it's always advisable to get your doctor's opinion first before you start ANY training regimen. Especially one involving supplements. As always, the safest and most effective way to lose weight is by using a well planned and tested diet and exercise regimen. To learn about a natural cure for fibromyalgia, Click Here
