  2. 2. Solution Overview  High Level Solution Description: • AAPAT utilizes advanced RFID technology to track in real time the location of patients and associated mobile hospital assets (clinical staff, beds, pumps, monitors, etc.).  Healthcare/ Business problem addressed: • Enhance the hospitals ability to immediately associate the patient to the exact asset for an exact clinical need. • Opportunity to reduce potential patient harm events by helping clinicians immediately allocate to the Right Patient the Right Asset at the Right Time… (Concept known as R-PAT) • Opportunity to introduce new workflows aimed at the continuous assessment and recording of the condition of Durable Equipment (Beds, Pumps, Wheelchairs, etc.) with the goal of predicting End of Life/Replacement Necessity. • Ability to fully integrate a true Asset Management Solution into Sunrise SCM, and Sunrise Financial Manager.  The application developed addresses the following category:  Applications that improve management of high cost chronic diseases.A Connected InnovativeHealth  Community of approaches toHealthcare Solutions, Inc. value-based care imperatives. | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts addressing 2
  3. 3. Usability and Design The AAPAT system tracks patients and assets as they move through the facility using advanced RFID technology. There is no additional work required by the provider.RFID portals will be installed in unit and room entrances. They will capture RFID tags that are embedded in patient brackets, provider badges and equipment tags.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 3
  4. 4. Usability and Design (continued) The RFID tag reads will be transmitted back to the central transaction server with the tag id and portal location. The read information can be used to verify movement of patients, asset, and providers thought the facility. A new tab in the patient screen will display the patients movement along with providers and equipment entering the room the patient is located in.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 4
  5. 5. Usability and Design (continued) Asset movement can be tracked to get a better picture of asset utilization. Assets can be matched to patient locations to verify that the proper equipment is in the right place at the right time. Assets leaving the facility with a patient can be tracked, assigned and billed to the patient.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 5
  6. 6. Development Stage Please indicate the development stage as of the Phase 1 Submission Date:  Idea  Prototype  Code development in progress  Code complete  Code complete, tested and approved by Allscripts. The majority of the development has been completed. Links into the Sunrise database are in place, the RFID tag programming is developed and the RFID tag reading for the initial (Alien Technology) RFID scanning is running.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 6
  7. 7. Integration Description The majority of data for this project is related to RFID readers, assets and RFID tag movement, so a new database has been created to store this information. Within the database, stored procedures have been written to securely retrieve data from the Sunrise database. The system uses the Allscripts.Helios.WebServices UserAuthentication Class, PatientInfo Class and ClinicalInfo class. The Eclipsys.Clinical.Windows.Interfaces is used to integrate the RFID tab into the patient chart.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 7
  8. 8. Go to Market Plans Provide information on business plans, including: • How will the solution be brought to market • AAPAT hopes to partner with Allscripts Solutions and Sales Teams. • Which Allscripts customer segments will be targeted • Acute Care Facilities that use any combination of Sunrise SCM (Core REQ), ED Manager, Bed Tracker, Patient Flow, and Sunrise Financial Manager. • What is the proposed price point for the solution • AAPAT pricing structure is as follows: • Licensing will be $/Bed tiered down per QTY (the more beds, the less per license at a ratio to be determined) • Hardware – At Cost (Either through Allscripts or Client’s Distribution Channel) • Implementation and Project Management Fees: Will Honor existing covenants of Allscripts Negotiated/Contracted rate with Client.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 8
  9. 9. Video Demonstration Access Video Here The video provides a quick overview of the AAPAT system; starting with the configuration of asset and providers and printing RFID labels and badges. Next the interface to the RFID readers is shown, followed by the tracking of patients, providers and assets through the facility. The video concludes with the integration of the RFID data into the patient window.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 9
  10. 10. Why this solution be selected! As Healthcare Systems are compelled to create more efficient organizations, it becomes imperative to bridge the core tenants of Patient Care and Financial Accountability. AAPAT’s integration into Sunrise SCM Maintains and Reinforces the theme of “A Connected Community of Health” by bridging immediate Patient Safety Needs with R Time Asset Management and Future Supply eal Chain capabilities.A Connected Community of Health | Copyright © 2011 Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. 10
