    • By the end of this session you will know how to:
    • Effectively use YouTube for your campaign
    • Post your amazing video on YouTube
    • Embed YouTube video on your website (Our Blog)
  • 3. Why YouTube?
    • Generate awareness TTM (Pre-contemplation to Contemplation) Create discussion around the issue
    • Low cost compared to paying for air time
    • If promoted effectively than access to large audience
  • 4. Limitations of YouTube
    • Is generally not as effective as moving people into ACTION.
    • If the video is done poorly or not marketed it will flop.
  • 5. The only time in healthcare you want something to go viral….
    • Have a professional make the video
    • Create a Website for follow up on an issue and post it on the description for your YouTube page
    • Use Facebook, Badges, Widgets, Twitter
    • Earn some media! Use local newspapers, radio stations for advertising your video
    • Search Engine Optimization, have a tech savvy person improve the visibility of your webpage in search engines
  • 6. How to Post a Video on YouTube
    • Make Your Video *It cannot be longer than 15 min or larger than 2 GB.
    • Upload the video onto your computer.
    • The video needs to be in the following formats: .mov, .avi, .mpg, .wmv

    • Create a YouTube Account (or Login) Go to: www.youtube.com Select “Create Account” on the right hand side (You can use your Google account to log in).
    • Click on “Upload” at the top of the screen
    • You can drag or drop a video onto the page

    • Name the video – use words that people will search
    • Describe the video, the longer the description, the higher the chance of your video getting hits. Also include your website here.
    • Tags - very important, use as many as you can so your video shows up when people search

    • Choose a category for your video
    • Select “share your video with the world”
    • Save changes
    • You have uploaded your first video to YouTube!
  • 10. How to Embed your YouTube Video on Wordpress
    • You will need your Embedded HTML Code from your video on YouTube
      • Login to YouTube
      • Find the video you would like to post on your blog
      • Right click on the video -> “copy embed html”

    • Embed the Video on your Blog while creating a page for future YouTube videos
      • Log in to your Wordpress Blog
      • Under “My Accounts” Select “Dashboard”
      • Select “Pages” and “Add new”
      • Title your page ie) YouTube Videos
      • Select “HTML”
      • Paste your Embed HTML Code
      • Publish the page

    • A YouTube video is only part of your social marketing or advocacy campaign. Use a website, blog, Twitter, Facebook and other web 2.0 technologies for follow-up to your video.

    • Link your YouTube video to your website and also post your YouTube videos on your website
