2. Research and Planning…
In our research and
planning we picked up on
the main themes in our
moodboard. These
were, anger, regret and
defensiveness- this is the
stereotype that surrounds
our target audience and
these traits surface
quickly in our male
protagonist. Showing his
state of confusion in the
chorus with the strobe
lighting, so the audience
is unaware of what is
going on around him.
4. Use of overlays
We also used overlays that connote with self harm
and the state of flux of an individual. We have only
shown this for a matter of seconds so the audience
are left assuming that something has gone past his
mind and believe our audience will be able to relate
to this.
5. Close ups throughout…
We have used constant close ups throughout our
video and also have shown this in our digipak-
Therefore I believe they work effectively with each
other. Although the main focus of our
promotional package is our male protagonist, we
believe due to the purpose of the song and
narrative, it is essential we included Emily in it
also.
6. Main promotional image- The artist himself…
The photograph we used to promote brand identification was the opening shot of
our protagonist after the overlay of the past memory. We believe this is a good
image to use on the front page of our album cover because it gives a cyclical
structure to the digipak- with the closed eyes at the back and open eyes at the front-
immediately creating house style between ALL platforms.
The mise-en-scene is very much adopted through all our products so we can
effectively reach our target audience. This takes into account his clothing and
swept back hair style.
7. Our aim
Our aim was to maintain a tangible link between all
3 media:
- We used still frame grabs from our video and used
them in our magazine poster and also digipak. This
was effective because the audience would easily be
able to relate to it.
The main singer in our video was also the central
character of our products. This ensures consistency
throughout all 3 platforms.
8. What would we change if we could?
What we would change if we could?
The part of our coursework I would change if I could would have to
be the location. We originally went to Camden town in London to
film our rough cut however realized it was not such a great idea due
to the cost of train tickets and busy atmosphere. This meant we had
to stay locally, so it was convenient for all members of our group-
Otherwise we would have struggled. This possibly is down to time
management, though I do think we worked productively and had
clear aims and objectives.
