  2. 2. I tesori d'Italia The Treasures of Italy A consistent part of Italian GDP comes from Tourism. The peninsula has been an important centre of the Wester civilization for two thousand years. Art, culture and history are the main assets of our country. The very same alphabet we all use has its origins in Rome.
  3. 3. The Treasures of Italy Florence, the Cathedral Rome, the Coliseum Pisa, the tower
  4. 4. Architecture Italy is the country where most important architects are from. They are renown for the daring and innovation in their work. Achitects of the past were also famous and created great works as are visible in Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa and the rest of Italy.

  6. 6. Peinture ● Italy was the European centre of Renaissance at the end of the Middle Age, which recovered, recreated and revaluated the treasures of art of ancient Roman and Greek civilizations. Famous Italian paintings are currently exhibited in the most important museums.

ARCHEOLOGY Italy has seen three important ancient civilizations start, and is uniquely rich in archeologic findings in Tuscany where Etruscan tombs are precious treasures rich of hints and information on everyday life, Latium, where the Romans have left so many work of art and buildings, and in the South, where ancient Greeks have seen the development of Magna Graecia.
