    3Q SS2 Readings for Nov 9 to 17 - Presentation Transcript

    1. SOCIAL SCIENCE 2: ASIAN STUDIES READING ASSIGNMENTS AND CLASS WORK For November 9 to 17 To my dear SS2 classes, I will be attending the Community Development and Leadership Summit 2009 in New Delhi, India, from November 7 to 15 as the official teacher chaperone of our school’s four student delegates. My absence will span four (Champa, Rosal, Sampa) to five (Dahlia) class sessions. I expect to be back in the classroom on November 18. Upon my return, we shall begin our topic on European Imperialism into Asia. In particular, we shall discuss the cases of India, China, and Japan. (The experience of the Islamic world in Southwest Asia will be taken up in the 4th quarter.) I expect you to read the following assigned texts from World History: Connections to Today. You will also be answering a set of questions (counted as one quiz) which you will submit at the end of the designated period. The content of these readings will serve as background for my lectures. Be good while I’m away. I’ll be blogging every day at http://martinperez.asia. You can catch my updates in Facebook too. See you all soon.
