  • Among the several points to be considered to develop a website effectively, SEO is also a prominent factor through which the website should get more visibility and can gain more traffic.
    once the webmaster decided to start a online business, then they have to have a strong knowledge in SEO and its impacts.

  • 2. What is SEO SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of improving and promoting a web site in order to increase the number of visitors the site receives from search engines. In the short term, SEO is basically is how to achieve good ranking (appears in first page) in search engine result page. Why do we need SEO? Beause the majority of web traffic is driven by the major commercial search engines. We will learn more about how to do the SEO in the next slides.
  • 3. Keyword Research One of the most important, if not the most important, part of SEO is Keyword Research. Properly researching the keywords and keyword phrases is important for several reasons. Check whether the keyword you desire has many searches or not.

  • 5. Types of SEO On-Page SEO which covers what can be done on the pages of the website itself. Off-Page SEO which covers activity that takes place elsewhere (outside of web page). First we will learn about On-Page SEO…
  • 6. Have a Good Web Design Make your website looks good! To make your visitors feel more comfortable when surfing in your site. Why is it important? To get low bounce rate level. Bounce rate : the percentage of visitors that open a website and leave before spending an amount of time that is deemed significant by the search engine.
  • 7. Good Web Contents Relevant contents : Make all your contents in your web page relevant with your target keywords. Put keywords in your page’s title, page’s descriptions and in the body content. Deep contents : Make sure your web contents are clear and have a deep understanding. Min 500 Chars Explain clearly Unique contents : Make sure the contents in your site is originally made. (Don’t just copy-paste)

  • 9. Links Building There are two types of Link Building : Inbound links : Links to your website on other websites. (e.g. link to your website on Facebook profile) Outbound links : Links of other website put on your websites. (e.g. link of your twitter profile page on your contact us page)
  • 10. Inbound Links Blogs Commenting Put link to our website in someone else’s blog comment. Do not put the link in the comment field but in the url/website field otherwise it will be suspected as Spam. Please remember, don’t just comment in any blogs but find blogs with good pagerank (PR), at least PR : 3
  • 11. To find good PR (PageRank) use SEOquake toolbar installed on your web browser (chrome or firefox) example : you search in google : Blog about Food SEOquake will show you the page’s PR, the higher the PR, the better it will be.
  • 12. Inbound Links (cont’d) Social Bookmarking websites Utilize social bookmarking sites like Reddit, Digg, stumble upon.. Post regularly. Other websites Utilize public blogs such as wordpress, blogspot, etc.(create blog and put link to our website) Utilize Video blog websites : Youtube, vimeo.. (create a good video content annd create link to our websites) Utilize public online forum Utilize about.me / linkedIn website Utilize online classified ads website
  • 13. Outbound Links Put links of credible websites in our content. For example , put wikipedia link as the source of our web content. Google will like it and thinks your website has a good content.

Use Social Medias Facebook : Utilize facebook Note (create note about your site and put target keywords in it) Twitter : Get more retweets (utilize popular hashtags (#) Google+ : Some says that Google will prioritize your Google+ ‘s contents as Google+ is the only Google’s social media product.
  • 15. Conclusions Research the right target keywords for your site. Make good website contents and put your keywords several times in your contents. Create inbound links in some websites with good google’s PR level. Always put link to your reference’s site (e.g : wikipedia). Don’t forget to use social medias.
