  • 1. Create a Lunar Eclipse Effect in PowerPoint<br />
  • 2. 1<br />Open a blank slide<br />
  • 3. 2<br />Change background colour to black. <br />This is our night sky.<br />
  • 4. 3b<br />(a) Insert an Oval Shape<br />(b) Draw a circle (Moon)<br />Enter Shape Height & Width as 8<br />This creates a perfect circle (diameter 8)<br />3a<br />
  • 5. 4<br />Fill white colour<br />Remove the outline<br />This will make the Moon white<br />
  • 6. 5<br />Using Align feature<br />Place the moon in the center <br />of the slide (sky)<br />Align Center (right to left)<br />Align Middle (top to bottom)<br />
  • 7. 6<br />Select Moon -&gt; CTRL C & CTRL V<br />Copy the Moon and create another Shape for Earth<br />Change the colour of the Earth to black.<br />This is the shadow of Earth falling on the Moon.<br />
  • 8. 7<br />Place the Earth’s shadow (black shape) on the left-bottom of the slide.<br />Use Align Options under Arrange (under Home Tab)<br />
  • 9. 8a<br />Select Earth’s Shadow. <br />Under Animations -&gt; Custom Animation -&gt; Choose a Line Motion Path<br />We need to move the Earth over the Moon and beyond<br />
  • 10. 8b<br />Click near the center of Earth’s shadow <br />and drag the line to draw Motion Path<br />
  • 11. 8c<br />Center of <br />the Moon<br />Finish the Motion Path near the top-right end of the slide. Make sure this line (of Motion Path) cuts the white Moon from near the centre.<br />
  • 12. Click here<br />To change Speed of Earth’s Shadow<br />9a<br />
  • 13. 9b<br />Enter the number you want. <br />The higher the number, the slower the speed.<br />
  • 14. Press F5<br />Click once and see your own Lunar Eclipse (whenever you want, wherever you want)<br />
  • 15. Surprise your friends and colleagues with this animation<br />
