These whales can be found in
both hemispheres at the top of the
ocean but the Northern Right
Whales live in the western North
Atlantic Ocean.
What sort of habitat does it live in?
It lives in the cool seas of the North Atlantic Ocean.
What does it eat?
They mainly eat zooplankton and krill.

have at once and how often?
They have one calf every three
to four years.
How many are left?
Approximately 400.
What are its threats?
These big beasts are
hunting the adult whales, this is
their biggest threat, also getting
run over by big boats. The
calves biggest threats are
Orcas and large sharks.
4. Are they being protected? What is being done to help them?
Yes, there is this group called Sea
Shepherd and they try to stop whaling. A
few pages back you could see a big ugly
boat and that was one whaling boat
out of fifty. As you can see next to us
is a boat, it is the best boat they have
in Sea Shepherd but last year one of the
whaling boats ran over the Ady Gil and
it sunk.
What is the biggest issue causing
them to become endangered?
The biggest issues are whaling, ship
strike, Orca and large sharks and
getting caught in fishing nets.
