Dr. Miller is one of many radiologists across the Oakwood system. Oakwood and its affiliated radiologists are proud to be on the forefront of advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology care for women in the community. Should you or a patient be interested in learning more about other radiology treatment options, please contact a radiologist at any of our Oakwood hospitals. ABOUT INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY According to the National Uterine Fibroids Foundation, 8 out of 10 women have uterine fibroids. Two of them will require treatment. Oakwood interventional radiologists now offer the latest technique for treating uterine fibroids called Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), as an alternative to traditional surgery. With UFE, a thin catheter is inserted into an artery and guided to the uterine arteries. Small particles are then injected into the artery, which ultimately block the blood supply feeding the fibroids. This procedure is minimally invasive with a shorter recovery time than traditional surgery. UFE is just one example of how the interventional radiologists at Oakwood are on the forefront of offering female patients a number of advanced treatment options.
