  3. 3. (2) Experience Gained: 1. House Physician for 6 months at Civil Hospital (M.A Jinnah Road) Karachi Pakistan, it is the biggest & oldest hospital of Country. It is 2000 bedded, associated with famous Dow Medical University. It is well equipped with all modern Medical facilities. The Sindh institute of Urology (suit) is one of the worlds best Urology center, where the kidney transplant facilities are available. Among the others Cath Lab, CT Scan, Cardiac Surgery facilities are available. I had an opportunity work for Professor Shafi Mohammad Qureshy MRCP (U.K) and Professor Shamsul rahmatulla FRCP (U.K). I learned art of medical clerkship, Ultrasonography, Endoscopy, routine laboratory investigations, indoor and outdoor patient services and also handled medical emergencies independently. I have done medical invasive procedures like plural taping, Ascetic taping. 2. House Surgeon for 6 months at Civil Hospital (M.A Jinnah Road) Karachi Pakistan. I worked for Professor Neck Mohammad Sheikh FRCS (U.K) and Assistant professor Mumtaz Maher Surgical unit VI. During this period I had been rotated in outdoor and Indoor Patient departments. I had assisted in many major Surgical cases and done minor surgery independently Elective as well as emergency cases. 3. Senior House officer: I began my carrier as senior house officer in Cardiology at Pakistan’s well known, biggest National Institute Cardiovascular Diseases Karachi Pakistan. It is situated at the heart of Karachi city Rifique Shaheed Road Karachi.I worked for 3 months in Unit III, subsequently promoted as Resident medical Officer/Registrar.

I had worked Continuously for 14 Years and during that I had been nominated for one year From Feb 1996 to Feb 1997 for advance cardiology training at St Georges HealthCare Hospital (Blackshaw road Tooting), London U.K under the supervision of senior consultant Dr. Charles Pumphrey. 5. National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Karachi is Well known as world wide postgraduate institute. It is 700 bedded national institute of cardiovascular diseases, it is well equipped with all modern cardiac facilities like 3 Cath Labs, 2 Echo Labs, E.T.T department, Holtermonitering, Thallium scan, 3 Surgical theaters where all sort of cardiac surgery carried out.25 bedded emergency department, outdoor department, 3 indoor adult cardiac units, one pediatrics unit and one indoor surgical unit. I had a chance to learn basic of cardiology in all these units during 14 years stay in N.I.C.V.D Karachi. I had been a long time incharge registrar of indoor/outdoor and emergency departments. I practiced Echocardiography with 2 D, M mode, Colour Doppler on latest echo machine, done stress echos and also assisted in transeosophageal echo (TEE). I had also supervised for long time exercise testing department and during that done hundred of tests on 2 machines, average daily 10 to 15 cases. Regarding invasive lab, I had also worked in Cath Lab for more than 6 months during that I assisted seniors in routine coronary procedures, Angioplasty’s (PTCA), Valvuloplasty, Primary (PTCA), Right heart study, Intra Aortic balloon pump. I have independently done about hundred cases of Coronary Angiography’s. I had extensive experience in implanting temporary pacemakers and also assisted in permanent pacemaker fixation. I also worked in pediatrics cardiology and surgical units. I used to do frequently pericardiacentasis, Central vain lines and juggler vain line. I have vast Experience in cardiac emergency handling from basic life Life support, Cardiac pulmonary resuscitation, Thrombolytic therapy, Temporary pacemakers,

During that time along with work, I got post graduate Training and passed Diploma in Cardiology 1st class 1993 And also passed fellowship in FCPS part 1 in cardiology 2000, presently also fulfilling the requirement for part 2 exam .I worked in 1996 for one year in St Georges HealthCare Hospital/Medical School & Postgraduate Center Tooting London U.K. Under the supervision of Professor Charles Pumphrey. I have been rotated in all Department of cardiothoracic unit, i.e: Cath Lab, Echo, ETT, outdoor and indoor department. 6. In Dec 2001, I have been appointed by Ministry Of Health Saudi Arabia as Cardiologist at King Khalid (Civilian) Hospital Tabuk, it is the largest, tertiary care hospital of Tabuk region, it drains very vast peripheral hospitals. It is300 bedded Hospital with most of modern facilities in cardiac as well as medical & surgical department etc. Having 2 Coronary care units, 2general wards. Each far male and female patient. New latest colour Doppler echo machines, Holter monitor and floro machines. Radiology department with CT Scan and MRI. As a cardiologists I have 2 days a week outdoor department appointments, in which I am offering consultation to 10 to 15 patients per day, overall 30 patients a week. I am also performing twice a week echo cardiography overall 45 to 50 cases a week including pediatrics cases. Stress testing also twice a week around 5 to 7 cases a week, there are 2 to 3 cases of holtermonitoring a week. I am 2nd on call twice a week and 5 to 10 Acute emergency admissions per call day, Emergency visits and same time disposal of cold cases. Implants Temporary pacemakers, pericardiacentasis, Plural taping/ascitic taping, Central Venous lines. I am actively participating in national and international conferences and also cardiology club Local Chapter meeting that are held every 3 months with joint venture King Abdul Aziz Military Hospital Tabuk.

Special Training: I have been well trained in indoor and outdoor cardiac Care, emergency care, coronary care, implantation of Temporary pacemakers, pericardiacentasis, plural and Ascitic taping. Performing echocardiography of adult And Pediatrics patients ,introducing central and juggler Lines. Performing holtermonitering, exercise test (ETT).
