  • 2. Geography-vegetation
    • *Nile River created a fertile valley.
    • *The RED SEA flooded making perfect soil making good vegetation.
    • *Flat land between the bends of the rivers were good because they got annually flooded by the Nile R.
    • *Rich farmland made it great for planting wheat and barley.
  • 3. Water
    • The Egyptians and Krushites settled near the Nile R. for water to survive, and fertile soil for crops, and fish for food.
    • Were there was freshwater there was fish,ducks,geese, hippos,crocodiles, giraffes,and ostriches.
    • The Nile R. flows to the north which goes to the Mediterranean Sea which they could make a sail and go down rivers and trade.The Nile R. is the largest river in the world.
  • 4. Pharaohs
    • The most powerful person in Egypt was the pharaoh. The pharaoh was the political and religious leader of the Egyptian people, holding the titles: Lord of the Two Lands and High Priest of Every Temple As Lord of the Two Lands the pharaoh was the ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt. He owned all of the land, made laws, collected taxes, and defended Egypt against foreigners.
  • 5. Topography
    • All of the deserts in Ancient Egypt included the Eastern Desert, the Egyptian Sand Sea, the Libyan Dessert, the Qattara Depression, and last the Wadi El Natrun.
    • These deserts are used as barriers.
    • Flat lands were good for farming and have good soil
    • And the Nile River Valley had good vegetation.
  • 6. Social status
    • In Egypt the pharaohs pyramids had several chambers the pharaohs on the top, government officials bellow him/her, then priests,then scribes,artisans next, finally the peasants,and the base of the pyramid.Government officials enforce the rules of the pharaohs.Priests were in charge of temples and rituals, and the death and burial. Scribes record for the pharaohs and government officials.Artisans sculpted and painted.The peasants worked and made food on farms or were working on the pharaohs pro
  • 7. Eternal life
    • Egyptians believed they would have a life after death.Only the high priest could preserve a body, first they removed the body organs,but only the heart stayed.The organs were put in jars and the Egyptians preserved them.the organs and body were dried out with natron salt. After 70 days they water and oil the body.then rapped in over 100 yards of linen,they decorated it with jewelry or lucky charms.They often put a helmet over the head.Then they put a gooey substance over the top and rap it once more.
