  3. 3. HYPOTHESIS error & potential
  4. 4. This thesis presents the hypothesis that the searchfor knowledge lies not in perfection, but in error andexperimentation. Error can lead to new discoveries, highlight process, give truth to form, and give a voiceto tools often considered lifeless devices. From paint spills and smears to misprints and glitches, interventions lead towards unintended ends that shouldbe explored and embraced. Errors give machinesa voice, reject established and accepted methods, andprovide great sources of inspiration outside the limitsof rationale and reason.Such a hypothesis could lead towards a new method ofdesign education that encourages failure and deviation.
