  • 2. Symptoms
    • A person with leukemia will start to feel weak, lose weight and feel nauseous . People with leukemia also bleed easily and have anemia, which means they have a low number of red blood cells.
  • 3. What is Leukemia ?
    • It is a type of cancer of the blood or bone that is characterized by an abnormal increase of white blood cells.
    • It is one of the most common childhood cancers.
  • 4. Types of Leukemia
    • There are two types of Leukemia .
    • Acute Leukemia, which is a cancer that grows and developes rapidly .
    • Chronic Leukemia, which is a cancer that develops slowly.
  • 5. Treatments
    • There are three main treatments for Leukemia.
    • Chemotherapy : putting cancer -killing drugs into the fluid around the brain and spiral chord
    • Radiation: using high-energy rays to shrink tumors and keep cancer cells from growing
    • Bone marrow transplant : when healthy bone marrow is introduced into the bone
