Job Seeker Strengths and Weaknesses – How to Tune
Hi, I will be happy to support youngsters find right jobs and guide in terms of career planning. The lack of information or the inability to see beyond tomorrow is hurting Fresher.
I am not sure how I came about reading your question. But you remind me of people I know well. I too graduated with BE in Electronics and found life to be more challenging than I expected.
Everyone talks about strengths and weaknesses but I am not sure how many students really understand what they are talking about. Please loose the generics, look at yourself closely, look at the environment around you and then ask yourself, what helped you survive all these years. Was it your ability to talk? Ability to interact with people? Ability to understand people, technology, the economy, etc? Then look at what the possibilities ....believe me the world is full of possibilities and you need to find them. The more aware you are of yourself and the world around you, the better your chances are of doing well.
Like in the reply from Somesh, you may want to join a call center to support yourself. Work for a yr or two and grow within the company. That will give you confidence. Once you know the ropes and proved to be a good worker you can start thinking laterally. Start taking courses, self study in the field of your interest. You may even find out the you like the call center industry. There are always ways to grow in the outsourcing/ multisourcing world. Else, move to another company (industry) where you feel that you are meant to be.
In the end, life goes on. You will find that we are in pursuit of one goal or another all through our lives. The important thing is to continue our pursuit. If you lose heart and loose the twinkle in you eyes people will not know who you are or what you are capable of. That will be the end of the road and hope will be futile.
I wish you luck and hope that you will put in the hard work required to be successful.
