    1. How To Prepare A Covering Letter Covering letter is very important for your job interview. Most people know how important is their resume and give more importance to construct it by spending more amount of time to prepare it. But just as important is the cover letter. It should be given more importance which accompanies and introduces your resume. Neglecting your cover letter is a big mistake in an extremely competitive job market. A cover letter is your first opportunity which tells about you to your employer which has been written in your own words. There are several steps which should be followed by you before you begin to start to write a cover letter. They are as follow. Step1 First you should prepare your cover letter in a computer using Microsoft Word. A computer will provide you with a correct format size and you don’t need to worry about the hand writing also. It will look professional and perfect. Step2 Try to use the cover letter template and prepare it perfectly with what is should be consist of. Don’t make it bored in writing as a form letter. Be very faithful and loyal while you do it. Step3 Use standard business letter practices as you prepare your cover letter. There are many books available in both brick and mortar and online stores which can help you get started. You can also view samples of letters online. Step4 Don’t be afraid to break the mold, as this may be what sets you apart from the competition. If you are a creative person try to prepare a list of your 6 strongest points and attach in your cover letter. Step5 Make your cover letter to be simple and don’t ever you different font with color to decorate it. Be professional in it. Make a photocopy of your cover letter and resume in a white paper used with black ink. Don’t change the font size also. Maintain the same format. Step6 You should mail your resume and your cover letter in an envelope which is large enough to fit. There should not be any damage to it. Many applicants are advised to email or fax their cover letter and their resume nowadays. Step7 Know in advance whether you should send your cover letter with the attachment along with your resume when you apply through mail. It is very important to note it down. Step8 Proof read is very important while you end you it. A simple typo mistake also implies that you are not serious about the position which you are applying for. Lack of attention is the case for it. So be very careful in writing and checking your cover letter.
