  • 2. Why Google? <ul><li>It plays a vital role in our life. </li></ul><ul><li>It gives us information about the required subject. </li></ul><ul><li>It has a system of page ranking. </li></ul>
  • 3. History <ul><li>It started in the year 1995 with an idea of Google the research project. </li></ul><ul><li>The project became Google. COM in Feb 1999. </li></ul><ul><li>The Founder’s :- </li></ul><ul><li>Sergey Brin (August 21, 1973) </li></ul><ul><li>Larry Page (March 26, 1973) </li></ul>

Missed the Opportunity! <ul><li>The founders approached Yahoo!, Alta Vista and many other search engine and technology companies to sell their project. </li></ul><ul><li>The offer price was $1million. </li></ul><ul><li>The offer was refused. </li></ul><ul><li>Within a year the founders had the net worth of $10bn each. </li></ul>

  • 7. How it Started <ul><li>The Basic idea was of Larry. </li></ul><ul><li>With a Positive attitude that ‘yes we can do it.’ </li></ul><ul><li>“You should try to do things that most people would not” (Larry). </li></ul>
  • 8. The Start. <ul><li>Larry and Sergey leased space in a Menlo Park garage for their first office. </li></ul><ul><li>An early Google computer, partially constructed from imitation LEGO blocks. </li></ul>
  • 9. The Name ? <ul><li>Initially the name was “Back Rub” which means the ability to analyze &quot;back links“. </li></ul><ul><li>The name ‘Google’ was derived from the word ‘g-o-o-g-o-l’ which is a mathematical term and it means ‘1’ followed by ‘100’zeros. </li></ul>

  • 11. How does Google makes money? <ul><li>It gets paid on every CLICK. </li></ul><ul><li>The payers are the advertisers on the site. </li></ul><ul><li>At present there are minimum 10,000 users per hour only in New York. </li></ul><ul><li>Another source of income is AOL </li></ul>

  • 13. Google goes public. <ul><li>Larry Page presides over the opening of the NASDAQ stock exchange on August 19, 2004, as Google goes public. </li></ul>
  • 14. Google’s Market <ul><li>IPO on Aug 19, 2004 at $85 per share (NASDAQ stock exchange). </li></ul><ul><li>The total earnings were $2bn. </li></ul><ul><li>Within a year the rate per share was $300 per share. </li></ul><ul><li>This time the total earnings were $80bn. </li></ul>
  • 15. Status at NASDAQ. <ul><li>The current rate of Google is $599 per share. </li></ul><ul><li>Technical Analyst Stifel Nicolaus has estimated the rate from $610 to $675. </li></ul><ul><li>The rates of Yahoo! had seen a decline of 20%. </li></ul>

  • 21. Conclusion. <ul><li>Nothing is ‘IMPOSSIBLE’. </li></ul><ul><li>Every one has idea’s. </li></ul><ul><li>Ideas without action are worthless. </li></ul><ul><li>If we take an initiative every one would join us. </li></ul>
