RESEARCH OBJECTIVE
Is there a need/ requirement for one more stall at the snacks bar at MBA academic block of IBS Hyderabad?
INTRODUCTION-
There is a snacks bar having a single stall in the academic block at IBS Hyderabad. Canteen is a bit too far
from the academic block to go during class timings i.e. 9.20am to 6 pm. There is too much rush at the
counter during 10mins break between classes. Students spend time at the snacks bar & get late for classes.
So, what do they think, should there be one more stall or not?
APPROACH TO THE OBJECTIVE-
Conducting a focus group interview.
EXCERPTS FROM THE QUESTIONNAIRE-
Q- How do you find the class schedule of IBS Hyderabad?
Dhruv - Its hectic, there is just half an hour break for lunch so we have to rush to the mess.
Yukti - On Tuesdays, we have 6 consecutive classes which is very tiring.
Shradha - More lectures should be covered in the morning as we are fresh and less in the evening.
Q- How do you find the break between the classes?
Dhruv- The break is for 10-15 min. Mostly 5-10 min is taken by the teachers to leave and then we have to
reach 5 min early for the next class. So, I don’t think that we really get any time in between the classes.

2. Yukti - These 15 min breaks are not useful for us, if these can be combined together then we’ll save one
hour that would be more valuable.
Shradha - It is not sufficient for either meals or taking rest.
Q- Do you feel like eating something in between the classes?
Dhruv – Yes, if we miss our breakfast then it gets difficult to sit for consecutive classes.
Yukti – Yes I do feel like having something but the canteen is too far.
Shradha – No, but I want to have 3 proper meals in a day.
Q- How do you find it when you miss breakfast or lunch and then you have to perform in class?
Dhruv - We have a habit of bringing eatables from the mess such as a sandwich and eating it in the class.
Yukti - It is difficult to perform in class with a hungry stomach.
Shradha – Not comfortable, low concentration & no focus.
Q- We have a snacks bar in the acads block. Do you think more service stall should be added to it?
Dhruv - Yes, it’s a wonderful idea. It will benefits us and save time.
Yukti - Yes, we do go and have tea, coffee or some snacks. But we have to wait for a long time. Adding a
stall will surely help us save time.
Shradha - Sometimes we get late for classes. We need to rush to the class or carry eatables with us.
Q- When I say snacks what comes to your mind? What do you want the new stall to have as its menu?
Dhruv - Something which we can have in 2-5 mins, like chips, juices, tea and coffee. May be veg roll etc.
Yukti-There should be packed food because a person who is moving to the class can purchase it and have it
while moving to the class also.
Shradha-There can be maggi, biscuits and beverages which we can quickly have during our breaks.
Q- What kind of services you will expect from the new stall inside the Academic block?
Dhruv – I feel it should not be expensive.
Yukti – There should not be any chaos, they should have enough numbers of counters.
Shradha – As we have break for 10 min we should get the things in just two min. It can be like we purchase
the token from somewhere else and then buy the product from the counter so that there are two places for
transaction and delivery and service can be really quick.
Q- How will you justify that even after having a snacks bar here the canteen business is not affected?
Dhruv-The timing of the snacks bar should be fixed from 9 to 6 so that the canteen business does not get
affected.
Yukti – I think is it wouldn’t affect because the students are anyhow not going to the canteen in between
classes because it is far away.
Shradha –May be canteen people can open a snacks bar here.

CONCLUSION-
Students think there is a need for an additional stall at the snacks bar in the academic block.
IN DEPTH INTERVIEW
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE-
To see whether the introduction of ”Bruosk” in academic block at IBS, Hyderabad is a customer/student
satisfactory move or not.
INTRODUCTION-
Till last year, there was no snacks bar at the academic block at IBS Hyderabad. Students had no option to
have snacks in between their breaks and sometimes tend to miss their lunch due to lack of time. But this
year, snacks bar ”Bruosk” is set up for student convenience.
APPROACH TO THE OBJECTIVE-
To conduct an in-depth interview to find whether the objective of ”Bruosk” is fulfilled.
EXCERPTS FROM THE QUESTIONNAIRE-
Q1-How often do you prefer visiting Bru in between your class breaks?
Ans- At least once a day, I visit Bru in any of the breaks.
Q2-What do you prefer to order to eat?
Ans- Generally, I prefer having juice but along with it I also order veg puff or a packet of lays.
Q3-Apart from veg puff, what are the things that you have tried and liked?
Ans- I have tried paneer roll and maggi and I have liked both.
Q4-What do you think about the prices of various eatables that it offers?
Ans-I feel the prices are reasonable enough as they are providing us the services far away from the city.
Q5-Have you ever faced any problem with Bru or is there something you think must change?
Ans-The only problem is that we have to wait for long to give our order and get it served. Whenever a class
gets over, there is a huge crowd at Bru.
Q6-Do you believe Bru should function with the coupon system?
Ans-Yes, I think it would reduce the que or wait time significantly for all.
Q7-Is there something else that you would like to suggest?

4. Ans - They can serve from two adjacent windows simultaneously so that they can serve faster.
Q8-Lastly, do you think the objective for which Bru was set up is being fulfilled or met?
Ans - Yes, absolutely. It serves students in between breaks and sometimes acts as a substitute for canteen
during lunch too. It is beneficial for us.

if there is something that they are not satisfied about.

Answered the questions asked by the interviewer.

Observed that there was no emotional outburst during the interview and that interviewee was comfortable
answering all the questions.
CONCLUSION-
BRU has been successful in meeting its objective and students are happy with its services and eatables
offered. Only if the time to serve can be reduced, it can serve better. Most of the students are regular visitors
to BRU. Breaks In between the classes have become fun to go to BRU and gear up for the next class.
