    • Page and Sergey Brin began Google as a research project. They felt that a search engine that ranked websites by how many sites linked to them, rather than by keyword density (the amount of times a word is found on a website) would give better rankings.

    • Founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo
    • Founded January 1994
    • It started as a hobby of these two people to find a way to keep track of their personal interests on the Internet.

    • A meta-search engine is a search tool that sends user requests to several other search engines and/or databases and aggregates the results into a single list or displays them according to their source.

    • web search allowing the use of operative terms such as and, or, or not (some Boolean search engines let you use signs like + or -, AND, OR)
  • 5. Types of search Google offers
    • Google offers to search for movies, videos, images, maps, and also check email.

    • Google makes most of its money through the sale of ads. In fact, of the company's $6.2 billion in revenue in 2005, over $6 billion is from the ads.

    • Software application used to locate and display Web pages.

    • Chrome
    • Light weight, colorful, peaceful, easily browse facility, contains own task manager, great bookmark facility.
