    • The challenge for modern forestry is to establish a balance between competing economic and social demands for forest and land use.

    • helping a landowner decide how to best meet his or her goals through the development of a forest stewardship management plan
    • extinguishing a forest fire
    • helping a logger implement best management practices in order to protect the quality of our water
    • working with a planting crew involved in reforestation efforts.
