The new era of DIB
10th July, 2008: With the grace of Allah the Almighty DIB has successfully launched the new Core Banking system Flexcube on 5th
July 2008 – MABROOK to all staff of DIB on this success. This is indeed a major milestone in DIB history and was made possible after
2 years of dedicated & hard work done by the Core Banking team and they deserve all the praise for this magnificent achievement.
It was all celebrations at the project office on Friday evening after more than 48 hours of migration activity. The entire Core banking
team, Steering committee, Working group and various representative of senior management including Mr. Rashid Mahboob (Head of

branches), Mr. Abdul Hakim Kannan (Chief of Audit), Mr. Taha Nauman (Dubai Region Manager) & Mr. Musabbah Al Qaizi (Head of
EBS) were present in project office for this historic occasion.
After verification of migration results by all key stakeholders and review by Audit team a signing ceremony was conducted followed
by Cake cutting and photograph sessions to capture the memorable moments. All present also signed the cutover plan blow up put
up in the project Office as a memento.
All branches and many head office departments staff were in offices Friday evening to use the new system and verify readiness for
customer service on Saturday morning. A special ceremony was held in Dubai main branch to perform the 1st transaction on new
Core System via ATM, CCDMs & Main branch. Mr. Abdulla Al Hamli, CIO & Mr. Nadeem Busheri Head of IT performed the 1st
transactions and one of our branch tellers performed the 1st teller transaction followed by cake cutting ceremony in main branch.
Mr. Khalid Al Kamda, MD & CEO appreciated efforts put by the project team and expressed gratitude to DIB staff for the extra
ordinary support manifested by them for the success of this key initiatives.\" This is a historical milestone for DIB and opens beginning
of new era in history for our organisation. This couldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our staff who are our greatest
asset.”
Mr. Fahad Bin Fahad, CRO congratulated the team: “I am proud of this achievement taking place in our bank and it is magnificent
milestone delivered through high dedication and endurance demonstrated by the core banking team in writing a history to be
recognized and will always be remembered. I certainly hope that it will mark an era for transforming the bank and support our
aspirations to becoming the leading bank in UAE.”
Mr. M. Nasrullah, Chairman Steering Committee added “Needless to say that the exceptional success achieved in the project was due
to tireless & committed efforts of an outstanding DIB project team. This has been an exemplary show of teamwork comprising of
people that demonstrated high levels of skill and deep know how in their area of responsibility. Each individual contributed well above
and beyond their scope of work and passionately ensured that all cut-over steps were well planned and effectively implemented.
My sincere congratulations to a 'Champion Core banking project team' for delivering successfully on an extremely difficult project that
involved big bang conversion of 50 branches to the new core banking system, conversion of the entire debit card business comprising
of over 750,000 cards on to the new cards system, a simultaneous upgrade of the ATM switch and lastly management of 40 plus
interfaces of surround systems to flex cube. This clearly is an above average achievement and deserves the full recognition of
management.”
Mr. Nadeem Busheri, SVP Head of IT added “this is indeed a remarkable achievement and entire IT team has worked in close
coordination with core project team to launch the new core system. We look forward in transforming DIB into a more efficient &
customer centric company leveraging off state of art technology & infrastructure in line with DIB vision & strategy”
