Small, family dental practices provide a quality of life that is rarely found in the constant rush of a large, corporate practice. Small, family dental practices provide a quality of

small practice is the personal connection I have to
my patients and my community.

For more than 18 years, I have run a very small, family
dental practice in Maryland. In more than 30 years total of
practicing dentistry, I have experienced the difference
between a small practice that allows me to spend time
with my patients and a large practice that required me to
move quickly from patient to patient without any
opportunity to build relationships. It is a wonderful
feeling to be out in my community and feel connected to
the people I encounter, not just through my family and
our activities, but also through the relationships I have
with my patients in the community.

By being in charge of my own practice, as opposed to
being a small cog in the wheel of a large practice, I
can easily tailor my services to the needs of my
patients. Consistent participation in continuing
education programs keeps me on top of recent
advances in dentistry, and that allows me to provide
my patients with the same high level of care they
would find at the most advanced large practices. I
enjoy offering something that the larger practices
cannot offer: a personal relationship.
