      • 69% of Franklin High School students have consumed alcohol in their lifetime
      • 48% have consumed alcohol in the past 30 days
      • Approximately 6% of Franklin High students have consumed alcohol on school property in the past 30 days
      • 29% of FHS students have participated in heavy drinking in the past 30 days (more than 5 drinks in a row)
      • 4 out of 10 middle and high school students who consumed alcohol in the past year have a serious problem with drinking
      • Sexual assault and rape are more common among these people
      • Every day an average of 11,318 teens try alcohol for the first time
      • On a typical weekend in the United States, 1 teenager per hour dies in a car crash
      • Over 45% of these crashes involve alcohol
      • A DRUNK DRIVING CONVICTION CAN COST UP TO $4,717

      • Teens who have parents talk to them about the dangers of drinking alcohol are far less likely to drink than those whose parents do not discuss the issue with them.

      • Some studies say that children of alcoholic parents have a 50% higher risk of developing alcohol problems

      • Over 6.6 million kids under 18 live in a house with at least one alcoholic parent
