MTC and the Trust <ul><li>Renewable Energy Trust was established by the Massachusetts Legislature in 1998 to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>increase the supply of & demand for electricity generated from clean sources ( generate power ) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>promote the development of a Massachusetts renewable industry cluster ( generate jobs ) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>MTC was selected to administer the Trust </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Supported over 1,200 projects, companies, and related activities </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Awarded over $250 million in grants/rebates </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Installed projects in 175+ communities </li></ul></ul>

Large Onsite Renewables Initiative <ul><li>Eligible Technologies : </li></ul><ul><li>Wind </li></ul><ul><li>Biomass CHP </li></ul><ul><li>Hydroelectric ( Refurbishing of existing dam sites only ) </li></ul><ul><li>Fuel Cells </li></ul><ul><li>Other Eligibility Requirements: </li></ul><ul><li>>10 kW of nameplate capacity </li></ul><ul><li>25% of generation used behind the meter </li></ul><ul><li>D&C team must be in place at time of application </li></ul><ul><li>If applicable, public bidding laws must be observed </li></ul>

Large Onsite Renewables Initiative <ul><li>~$6 million per year budget. </li></ul><ul><li>Competitive solicitation and evaluation process. </li></ul><ul><li>Public projects are eligible in addition to commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. </li></ul><ul><li>2 deadlines per year. </li></ul>Design is capped at $125,000 or 75% of actual costs; Construction is capped at up to $275,000 or 75% of actual costs; D&C Award based on incentive matrix Design and Construction Capped at $40,000 requiring 15% cost-share Feasibility Proposed Available Funding Project Type
