    Kilo-litre – 1 thousand litres
    Hecto-litre – 1 hundred litres
    Deca-litre – 10 litres
    Litre – 1 litre/1000 ml

    Femto-litre – 1 quadrillionth of a litre

    On units over 1 litre, you times ten for every prefix you go up.
    On units under 1 litre, you divide ten every time you go down a prefix.
