    • EHSAS Extending High Standards Across Schools Sarah Herbert School Facilitator Murrays Bay Intermediate 2007
    • What is it?
      • A four year contract designed by Colin Dale along-side Tania Everleigh to increase teaching performance across schools.
      • Effective coaching and mentoring, without being invasive of your teaching.
      • Helping teachers develop more effective pedagogy.
      • A personalised programme to suit each teacher, to help them achieve their goals.
    • Who does it involve?
      • Murrays Bay Intermediate School

      • Campbells Bay School
      • St. Johns School
      • Browns Bay School
    • EHSAS Mentor
      • This is Tania Everleigh. Her job is to oversee the whole cluster and assist where needed. She is the mentor for all seven schools.

      • Role:
      • Lead the contract within the school
      • Collect data for numeracy and literacy.
      • Collect and analyse data collected from observations.
      • Be a support to teachers
    • Your role
      • To be open to being observed in a supportive way.
      • To strive towards your own teaching goals.
      • To be able to discuss where you are at, and where you would like to go next.
      • To ask for help if you need it.
    • Impact on teaching
      • We are hoping that this contract has a huge impact on teachers and the learning which goes on in classrooms.
      • This contract will not take up a lot of your time like previous contracts.
      • This contract is designed to have you guiding your own development too.
    • Principles of Good Teaching
      • In 2002 MBI produced a set of statements which, at the time the school agreed were the ‘principles of good teaching.’
      • This list has since been added to. The statements which feature are a summation of the skills and qualities that comprise quality, effective teaching.
