  1. 1. Bad Things online pdfTo download now please click the link below. hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has neverhelped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. Thisman was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
  2. 2. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, itwas crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine? For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future withsingle-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was toknow about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Ofcourse, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. Thisseries can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.Bad Things is a full length novel, at roughly 105,000 words. This book is intended for ages 18 and up.ReviewsI loved this book!! It made me swoon, squee, and swear which pretty much is theperfect mix, right?I couldn’t put it down. Another winner from R.K. Lilley! When Tristan unexpectedly becomes a fixed part of Danika’s world, he throws herwhole life out of whack. Fun, flirty, and bossy with a devilish charming that couldget just about anyone to do just about anything, he was Trouble with a capital Tand just what Danika was trying to avoid. He was ripped, tattooed and baked thehell of chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and did I mention the dimples yet? ‘cuz,SWOON!! They quickly worked out a “friends-only” rule but guess how long thatlasted?“I’m bad… when it comes to relationships, which is why I don’t do them.”I couldn’t help it. I had to ask. “So what do you do?”
  3. 3. “Hookups. Brief, casual hookups. How about you?”I shook my head, pursing my lips at him… “I do relationships. No exceptions.Never had a casual hookup in my life.”He sighed… “Well I guess that makes things less complicated. We’ll befriends, then.”Try as they might to keep things platonic, their feelings just could not be ignored.Let me tell you guys, Tristan and Danika had CHEMISTY!! Off the charts, scorchingchemisty! Their banter had me smiling almost non-stop. Danika was sassy andsarcastic and Tristan was bossy and charmingly charismatic and their combinationmade for some absolutely brilliant scenes!“You making a move on me?” I called out to him, but I wasn’t pushing him away…His smile was innocent enough, but i thought there was a hint of something else inhis eyes.“Just dancing, sweetheart.”The whole book just flowed. From start to finish it kept my attention and made mesteadily fall deeper and deeper in love with the story and the characters.
  4. 4. They were opposites in so many ways. Danika only did relationships and Tristanonly did hook ups. On the surface that might just seem like personality traits butin reality it was the heart breaking events from their past that had shaped theminto people who needed that. Danika came from an abusive home and craved thecommitment and stability of a loving relationship. Tristan had fallen in love youngand had thrown himself wholeheartedly into a relationship only to have his heartbroken and trodden on by the one person he was committed to. They both hadtrust issues and deep hurts but at the end of the day they both cared deeply foreach other… it was just a question of admitting it to themselves.“Tell me not to kiss you.”“Don’t kiss me.”“Mean it.”“I can’t.”I have to admit, I didn’t expect how strongly and completely I was going to fall forTristan. But guys, I fell HARD. Oh my Lord! This guy baked, had tats and dimples. That alone would melt my heart but he was also the lead singer in a rock band, was insanely protective of Danika and took “charming” to a whole new level. Thethings he said just made me SWOOOOON. He cared SO much her. You could feel itin every action he made. There were times when I wanted to shake him but my heart also broke for him.You could just tell that he was one of THE good guys. You know? The one’s who’llput their everything on the line for their girl. But after having his heart brokenbefore, he had become guarded – determined never to put himself in that positionagain. Ever. But something about Danika was different and brought out the part ofhim that wanted to commit… he just couldn’t. Not at first. It was so hard for himto give his heart over again. But what that meant was that when he did, it wasthat much more meaningful because it showed not only the depth of his feelingsbut also the depth of his trust.
  5. 5. And seriously, have I mentioned how protective he was? There is just somethingabout an Alpha who is willing to do ANYTHING for his girl that just makes my heartrace.Danika was a strong-willed yet very sweet heroine. I took a strong liking to herand felt very sympathetic to the things she went through. It was nice to have aheroine I didn’t get frustrated with. Her back story was just plain horrible.Seriously, the poor girl!! Life had really screwed her over but I absolutely adoredthat Tristan not only wanted to hear about it but also wanted to talk with herabout it, openly, honestly. They built a wonderful friendship filled to the very brim with scorching sexualtension… no joke, we’re talking off the charts hotness here! No kink, but Tristanwas definitely Dominant in the bedroom and trust me, you will be fanning yourself…“Danika, sweetheart?” He rasped.“Yes, Tristan?”“I’m done being sweet, if you don’t mind. I’d like to fuck you really hard if that’sokay.”But all good things must come to an end. At the end of the day, they were bothjust so strongly shaped by their past. Tristan couldn’t do commitment and Danikacouldn’t do casual and when the hurt came, it HURT. I understood where both ofthem were coming from but it didn’t stop it from being oh so painful. But I loved seeing them work through it. And, as with every other part of theirrelationship, it was with openness and honesty. Yes, there were some prettypainful, gut-wrenching mistakes made but because of how much I felt I
  6. 6. understood what led up to it and because of the way they worked their way backtogether, I never found myself frustrated with the story. Yes, I swore (out-loud)and I might have face-palmed once or twice but at the same time, I loved it! A lotof it was really about Tristan figuring out what his heart wanted. Everyone makesmistakes and everything about him was just so genuine and sincere that I couldn’thelp but forgive everything he did that hurt my heart and Danika’s especially givenhis profuse and sincere apology. And, to be fair to him, his mistakes were neverstupid, they were understandable given his past… they just hurt like fucking hell. The ending built in intensity. There were ohhhhhhh FUCK moments, tragicmoments and finally happiness. There is no relationship cliffhanger at the end but their story is far from over. Weare treated to the first chapter of the next book at the end of this one which givesa solid idea of where their story will go. Also, given some of the things we knowabout their future from Up In The Air, we know they have a rocky road ahead ofthem but I am so looking forward to seeing them work through it.The author has said that she is 99% sure that this will be a 2-book series and shehas a whole series of FAQs that I’ve linked at the bottom of the page here. I havecome to really trust this author’s writing and I can’t wait to see where she takestheir story next.Timeline-wise, this book took place before In Flight and we actually get severalawesome cameos from James Cavendish (the hero of the Up In The Air series) butin his pre-Bianca days. But it was cool to get to see him in a whole new lightbecause we knew him as the kinky fuckhot lover, but in this book we actually getto see him at work. There are no spoilers in this book for the Up In The Air series. I’d really call this aspin-off series. Many of the characters in from the UITA series not only make anappearance, but are main supporting characters in this book but at the same time, you could easily read this as a stand alone. My personal recommendation thoughwould be to read the UITA series in full first. I think you’d get the most completepicture that way but it’s not absolutely necessary.
  7. 7. R.K. Lilley’s writing is addictive, her stories are captivating and you are guaranteedto fall in love with her characters. There is a reason she’s one of my favoriteauthors! I highly recommend this book! It was an absolutely wonderful read!I am a huge fan of R.K. Lilley and her Up In the Air series so I couldn’t wait forBad Things! We first meet Tristan and Danika in Grounded (Book #3) and it isimmediately apparent that they have a sad love story to share. Boy, do theyever…… I finished this book late last night, my brain and heart are still in a fog.The last few chapters will have you on the edge of your seat and I can guaranteethat you will ugly cry! I give this a solid 5 stars!Danika is living a low key life as a nanny and is formally trained as a ballroom, salsa, hip-hop and club dancer. Danika is seeking love and commitment afterbeing raised by a drug addict mother who abandoned her, whereby forcing herinto the foster care system. Danika is compassionate and sassy all wrapped up inthis spunky twenty one year old package. What I loved most about Danika is sheis a survivor.“I knew trouble when I saw it, it being a very old friend of mine. Trouble for mewas this nasty little self-destructive streak that I’d never quite been able toshake.”Tristan Vega is the ultimate Las Vegas playboy. His only commitment is to theVegas club scene with a different woman in his bed every night. He had his heartbroken by his first love therefore has sworn off relationships and all the “baggage”that comes along with them.Danika and Tristan have an immediate connection. That said Danika is bound tokeep this bad boy at bay all while Tristan is determined to keep his heartprotected. They compromise on a friendship and create The Friends Don’t List –Because I like you to much to sleep with you. Their constant attraction and flirtingis oh so steamy!
  8. 8. “You should know that I’m too weak to resist you right now, so tread carefully, boo.” ~ Tristan“I don’t think I’d ever been more turned on in my life as I was just from dancingwith Tristan. My breath came out in little pants, every inch of my skin overheated, and not just from exertion.” ~ DanikaThis is an amazing read and is certainly not the last we will hear from Tristan andDanika. R.K. is working on Rock Bottom (Tristan & Danika #2)5 stars!!I absolutely loved the Up in the Air series so was super excited when I heard thatthere was going to be a spin off series and had to get in there quick…if JamesCavendish was anything to go by I couldn’t wait to see who we would get to readabout next!! This book is about Danika and Tristan…if your memory needs a littlejogging Danika was the girl that walked with a limp, Tristan was the magician atthe club, she and Tristan used to be together but weren’t at the time, she hadforgiven him but not forgotten and we knew that her limp had something to dowith Tristan, they were both friends of James and Bianca. (I must admit, I didhave to go back and double check these little deets!!).Well, this book starts before then, when Danika and Tristan first met and we stilldon’t know how she got the limp!!Danika was the live in nanny for Jerry, Jerry brings Tristan home with him to crashfor a week or two whilst his new apartment is being finished, they both take aninstant liking/lusting to each other, but soon get on so well they become firmfriends. Tristan makes it clear from the start that he is not interested inrelationships, he is more a casual hookup kind of guy, Danika makes it clear thatshe is only a relationship kind of girl so they both agree that they will be bestfriends and not let their attraction for each other get in the way. Tristan makes upa set of rules they must follow to ensure that the boundaries are not crossed. Itsoon becomes clear that neither of them can possibly stick to the list of rules andthey are crossed on more than one occasion. Can they make a relationship work??
  9. 9. Danika was lovely, she had a great sense of humour, was an amazing dancer, wassuper sexy even though she didn’t know it, honest, caring and loved being part ofa family even though it wasn’t her own. She hadn’t had a great childhood herselfand was estranged from her family so Jerry’s were her adopted ones.Tristan, he was sex on legs and he knew it, I knew that he must have been burnedin the past to make him the way he was and he had by “Twatalie” what a fabname!!! He kept pulling back from Danika because he not only loved her but heloved her as a person and did not want to lose her friendship, he kept thinkingthat the sex would get in the way of that and ruin it and he treasured herfriendship so much he would rather forego the relationship and be happy withthat. Once Danika started showing an interest in others he soon realised that hecouldn’t carry on and this was the momentum he needed to make a move. This is a fab read and if I am totally honest I actually think I preferred this story tothe Up In The Air series…I know SHOCKER!!! James Cavendish does appear in thisbook so for you James fans do not despair, he is in it!! I loved that Frankie was init too, she was the tattoo artist and she soon becomes friends with Danika, she isjust what she needed!! I adored Jared, Tristan’s brother and was sad that henever got his HEA but that is another story.I am now seriously scared for the next instalment, it is obvious something badhappens for their relationship to be in the state it is in the Up In The Air series andI am really dreading reading how she gets her limp…they are seriously perfect foreach other and I sincerely hope that no matter the obstacles and whatever hashappened they can get through it.Fab read, highly recommended! To download now please click the link below.
