  • sheilawebber sheilawebber commented on Potential and issues of Web 2.0 Slides 11-13. The first shows my page on Twitter (in the name of my Second Life avatar), then a conference Twitter page and then the names of a couple of libraries/librarians who use Twitter. These show what some uses of twitter might be - announcements of events, changes etc. Possibly useful if some of the people you want to connect with use microblogging - you could become part of their "universe" (if they choose to include you) 2 years ago

  • sheilawebber sheilawebber commented on Potential and issues of Web 2.0 Slide 6 - you can combine any of the words on the right with any of the words on the left! See also my ppt on Slidesahre which is just about blogs. 2 years ago
  • sheilawebber sheilawebber commented on Potential and issues of Web 2.0 Slides 3-4 show Web 2.0 activities interacting - I presented a powerpoint in Second Life, also uploaded it here to Slideshare. My SL friend Robin blogged her account of the presentation, and within a week a couple of people had tagged the Slideshare ppt on delicious. Slide 4 shows a picture I tookl at the Second Life conference social, with it then uploaded to Flickr and added to the set of (real life and second life) conference photos (the SLED 2008 set). I also blogged it. 2 years ago

  • sheilawebber sheilawebber commented on Variation theory as a basis for designing a module on teaching information literacy Yes, well I was giving this presentation in front of the leading experts in this type of research approach, so they’d have thought I was some kind of idiot if I’d tried to explain it from first principles ;-) So - that’s the kind of presentation it is - I do say where it was presented in the "About" bit. It’s an interesting issue, though - whether I should put all my ppts on slideshare when some of them are very geared to a specific audience. I think there are people in this field out there who could be interested (I hope ;-) Perhaps I should emphasise this kind of thing more in the "about" section. 2 years ago
  • sheilawebber sheilawebber commented on Presentation on the headlines of the interviews Thanks for the slides. Re comments of guest71210e - Without evidence, I don’t think we CAN assume that technology is more of a barrier for teachers than learners. Apart from the individual context of the teacher/learner, the organisational context may currently make it more difficult for learners to get access to SL than for teachers to get access (since teachers tend to have more freedom and privileged access). 2 years ago
